Initiative 4: Knowledge base for power and CO2 accounts
It is important that ordinary people, companies and public authorities can easily acquire a picture of how much power is consumed as a result of IT use, and how much CO2 is emitted. Information about energy consumption and CO2 emissions must be readily available
To achieve this goal, the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation will establish a knowledge base on IT-related CO2 emissions. The knowledge base is to provide the individual citizen, company or public authority with access to measurements of their energy-consumption and resulting CO2-emissions.
The knowledge base will be made digitally accessible via the Internet and will compare the various existing power and CO2-calculators. The knowledge base will also include advice about electricity consumption. The content of the knowledge base will be developed along the same lines as – and on the basis of – existing tools from The Danish Electricity Saving Trust and the Ministry of Climate and Energy.
