Zeina Al-Hajj
Head International Toxics and Electronics Campaign, Greenpeace International
Zeina Al-Hajj has been
an environmental and human-rights activist for more than 15 years. She
joined Greenpeace in 1996, co-setting up the Lebanese presence for the
organisation.
She led the office in Beirut from 1999 until 2003, when she moved to Greenpeace International to lead the organization’s work on trade and WTO.
Zeina campaigned against waste dumping, industrial contamination, ocean pollution, illegal trade, globalisation and climate change, advocating clean production and polluters’ responsibility.
In 2004, she lead the development of the campaign to “Green the Electronics” sector and was in charge of the team that delivered the “Greenpeace Guide to Electronics”, the “Green My Apple” campaign” and the dialogue with the electronics sector.
Since July 2008, she has been leading Greenpeace International campaigns on electronics, toxics and sustainable agriculture.
