OIOXML electronic invoicing

This page is dedicated to maintenance of data specifying the content of OIOXML electronic invoicing. The material is of a technical nature, intended for system suppliers and enterprises who wish to develop their own software for generating an OIOXML electronic invoice.

New mandatory format

Suppliers to the public sector should be aware that it is mandatory to send electronic invoices in OIOUBL, and that OIOXML is no longer a valid format as a mean of communication with public authorities in Denmark. OIOUBL has been mandatory as a mean of e-Invoicing with the public sector since 1. May 2011 as stated in the “Executive Order on Information in, and Transport of, OIOUBL Electronic Invoices for Electronic Settlement with Public Authorities”.

More information on OIOUBL is available at:

Information on OIOXML

OIOXML was previously the mandatory format for sending electronic invoices to the public sector. Information regarding OIOXML can be found in the former Executive Order on Electronic Invoicing (“Executive Order on OIOXML Electronic Invoicing”), which includes a FAQ section together with associated notes:
